Peculiar Parents a CBCA Winner!

I am thrilled to announce that Peculiar Parents has won the Eve Pownall Award for Information Books in the Children’s Book Council of Australia’s Book of the Year Awards 2026. I never dreamed of winning this award once, let alone twice, and especially not this time, when I was on a shortlist with the likes of Tim Winton!

A ginormous thank you to the wonderful team at NLA Publishing for yet again having faith in my ability to produce a good book. It definitely takes a team to create an award-winning book like this, and I was working with some of the best, including super-talented illustrator Ingrid Bartkowiak and ace book-designer Hannah Janzen. No wonder it is such a beautiful book! A big thank you to the CBCA, too, for the amazing work they do promoting Australian children’s books.
